How to hang a flag in a dorm
By Connor Huss · Updated
Every Mosaic flag has a loop in each corner. Put two adhesive hooks on the wall, about 5 feet apart, and hang the top loops on them. Or push a tapestry pin through each loop. No nails needed. Hooks leave no marks if you peel them off slowly.
What you need
Two adhesive hooks, or four if you want the bottom held flat too. And a damp cloth to clean the wall first.
Step by step
Wipe the wall and let it dry. Stick two hooks at the same height, about 5 feet apart. Press each one for 30 seconds. Wait an hour, then hang the top loops on the hooks.
Keep the bottom from curling
Add two more hooks or pins for the bottom loops. The flag hangs flat and stops moving every time the door opens.
If your dorm bans hooks
Check your housing rules first. If adhesive is banned, tie the top loops to a curtain rod or the bed frame with string. A tension rod across a window works too.
Getting the creases out
Flags ship folded. Hang it and the creases fall out in a day or two. To speed it up, steam the back on low. Do not iron it directly.
Questions
How do the loops work?
There is a loop in each corner. Hang them on hooks, push a pin through them, or tie them with string. There are no grommets.
How far apart should the hooks be?
About 5 feet, so each one lines up with a top corner loop.
Will hooks damage the paint?
Not if you take them off right. Pull the tab straight down, slowly.
